Account Manager

MATCOR is a leading cathodic protection and corrosion prevention company; providing materials and services to global clients for over 40 years.

An expert in the field of cathodic protection, MATCOR offers proprietary corrosion protection products, installation, cathodic protection testing, maintenance and complete corrosion protection project management. MATCOR specializes in protecting the infrastructure of the oil and gas, electric utility, transportation and water industries.

Position Summary:

 We are seeking a highly motivated business development professional to join our Sales team. This is great opportunity for a technically oriented individual who has demonstrated sales success in the oil and gas or power industries.  This position requires a strong team player with the ability to create new opportunities for the organization. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in new business development and sales acquisitions. They will be able to demonstrate an innovative approach to their sales efforts and understand that excellent service is the great differentiator.  This position will report to the Director of Sales and will be responsible for securing sales of our company's services and products to clients in Downstream, Midstream and Upstream energy markets.

 

Essential Functions:

  •  Develop territory plan for markets and clients in assigned geographic region
  • Identify, develop and grow new accounts through activities such as cold/warm calling, meetings, presentations, trade shows, follow-up on marketing-generated leads, and other agreed-upon methods
  • Plan and prioritize sales activities and client contacts to achieve agreed-upon sales goals
  • Execute sales strategies with limited supervision, manage time and productivity effectively
  • Conduct business in a professional and ethical manner in accordance with company policies
  • Use Salesforce.com as CRM tool.  Record account, contacts, activities, opportunities and other information to ensure it is up-to-date and accurate
  • Plan/carry out/support local marketing activities to agreed budgets and timescales, and integrate personal sales efforts with other organized marketing activities (i.e., product launches, promotions, etc.)
  • Respond to and follow-up on sales inquiries and/or leads using appropriate methods
  • Communicate, coordinate and negotiate internally and externally using appropriate methods to facilitate development of profitable business and sustainable relationships
  • Attend and present at external customer meetings and internal meetings with other company functions necessary to perform duties and aid business development
  • Participate in weekly sales coordination calls and bi-yearly sales summits
  • Learn the cathodic protection industry and our MATCOR products, services and turn-key solutions, and be able to clearly articulate key differentiators
  • Adhere to health and safety policy, and other requirements relating to care of company personnel and property

 

Qualifications:

  • 5 plus years of sales experience with a product and services-oriented deliverable
  • Business, Engineering, construction and/or technical degree preferred
  • Prior corrosion/cathodic protection experience preferred
  • Familiarity with the energy and power markets
  • Ability to travel domestically 50% of the time
  • Possess the passion, desire, responsibility and commitment to succeed
  • Excellent communication skills: verbal, written and presentation
  • Clean driving record
