Midstream is a subsidiary of Brand Energy & Infrastructure Services. In the Midstream market, we offer cathodic protection for pipeline gathering systems, terminals and tank farms; a full line of pipeline repair and maintenance services including leak detection and composite repairs; and a full range of shop/field capable coatings and surface preparation services. Brand also offers its full range of specialty service offerings for capital projects, refurbishments, turnarounds, outages, and maintenance at gas processing plants across North America.

Position Description:

Professional analyst with responsibility for customer job-cost financial management, coordination of proper paperwork, identifying and solving customer information and processing problems.  The goal is to support Operations project management of jobs through; billing accuracy, labor management, expense tracking, projection report status and job costing.  Also act as primary liaison between finance and operation in assigned areas; drive accountability.

 

DETAIL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Job Setup
    • Review all customer contracts & PO's and verify job setup
    • Track status of billing for projects
    • Maintain/Create billing package for projects
    • Submit billing request to centralized billing team
    • Review and sign off on final invoicing
    • First contact for job set up or billing issues from central billing 
  • Job Cost
    • Lead monthly preliminary job cost meetings with Operations Team
    • Review revenue, costs and margins for discrepancies
    • Review job cost detail for accuracy
    • Reconcile shipment packers
    • Assist with completion of month-end accruals, deferrals and reclassifications
    • Submit job cost changes to the finance team
    • Assist in job cost review meetings to Management
    • Perform post-mortem job cost as needed
  •  Projection/Monthly Forecast
    • Lead monthly preliminary forecast meeting with Operations Team
    • Lead mid-month re-forecast meeting with Operations Team
    • Review backlog and monthly revenue projection with Operations Team
    • Submit forecast changes to the finance team 
  • Reporting
    • Publish weekly labor hour report
    • Publish weekly packer report
    • Publish weekly billing tracker vs forecast
    • Develop and maintain metrics, dashboards, scorecards as needed
    • Supervisor Backup
    • Weekly/daily review of time sheets and work reports
    • Weekly review of equipment utilization/allocation report
    • Weekly review of P-card usage/coding
    • Review historical data ensuring that appropriate receipts, accuracy of information and proper documentation accompanies items
    • Assists in ensuring the maintenance of all company records and files related to the operations of the field office functions are on the server
    • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards
    • Ensures that the policies and procedures of the company are carried out in a manner consistent with the goals and objectives of the company
    • Manage all open PO's for projects
    • Review and close out projects when completed
  • Other
    • Assist operational leaders to develop annual budgets
    • Develop and maintain tools/reports to assist in operational results
    • Communication with the Area manager on a weekly basis
    • Communication with Corporate Accounting
    • Complete all other responsibilities as assigned

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Ability to multi-task and properly execute multiple simultaneous assignments under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Strong knowledge and experience of billing, project management, time keeping, controls, analytics and normalization
  • Experience in the Oil & Gas and/or inspection and testing industries preferred
  • Strong data-mining, critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience automating complex reports in Excel highly preferred
  • Highest standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized
  • Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to think creatively, highly-driven and self-motivated
  • Experience in working with cross functional projects involving multiple departments
  • Adapt to change easily; must be flexible and thrive in a fast pace environment
  • Must have the ability to take initiative and work independently as well as with virtual team members

 

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance related field a plus
  • 5+ year's prior experience in accounting, finance and billing
  • 3+ year's in project management
