MATCOR, Inc. is seeking a corrosion engineer to work in our Chalfont, PA office.   Job activities shall include cathodic protection design, AC mitigation design, AutoCAD drafting, occasional field data collection and field installation support, generating technical reports, involvement in NACE and other technical organizations, use of different 3rd party software (American Innovations, Mobiltex, SharePoint, ArcGIS).    The Corrosion Engineer will manage the technical aspects of projects, engage in simple to complex designs, generate design drawings, provide over-the-phone support to field technicians, communicate directly with clients on project-related issues, and engage in technical report writing, technical paper writing (for NACE International and marketing efforts) and shall support Matcor's material manufacturing and new product development efforts.    The Corrosion Engineer will assist in technical sales, prebid meetings, in-person presentations to clients, and presentation/teaching at industry conferences.  


Candidates shall have the following skills and qualifications:

  1. Possess a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited university.
  2. Minimum of 5 years' experience in the oil and gas industry.
  3. Experience with corrosion control preferably cathodic protection.
  4. Experience working with Federal standards and NACE standards.
  5. Proficient with AutoCAD.
  6. Mastery of MS Word, MS Excel and other basic office software.    
  7. Must be comfortable learning and using cloud-based software (programming not required)
  8. Must be able to demonstrate strong technical writing skills, strong organizational skills, attention to detail.  
  9. Must demonstrate excellent communication skills.
  10. Must demonstrate willingness and comfort with public speaking. 
  11. Must be able to read/write/speak English.  
  12. Must be able and willing to work in the field to train technicians, meet with clients and perform tasks in support of cathodic protection designs.  
  13. Expected overnight travel requirement 25%.  
  14. Driving a company vehicle may be required.   Must have a valid drivers license and clean driving record within last 3 years.  


Preferred skills/qualifications:

  1. NACE Cathodic Protection Technician (CP-2) or ability to obtain within 6 months.   Additional field work will be expected within first 6 months for training purposes if successful candidate has insufficient prior experience.  
  2. Mastery of AutoCAD and ArcGIS. 
  3. Past experience with design, maintenance and installation of cathodic protection and AC mitigation systems.
